I am Moira. I am a Life Coach.
As I entered my fifties, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing in my life. From the outside, everything looked good. I had a fun husband, three great kids, and a dopey bulldog named Doug. We spent 21 years on the East Coast before moving to Chicago three years ago, the city I had always loved most.
But my life was also shaped by raising my son Jack, who had severe disabilities. For 30 years, caregiving, advocating, worrying, loving, and managing his world became such a huge part of my identity that somewhere along the way, I stopped thinking much about myself.
When my youngest son left for college, the quiet hit me hard. For the first time in decades, I had space to think about me again, and honestly, I wasn’t even sure what I wanted anymore. I loved my life and my family, but I kept asking myself the same question over and over: What is missing?
That’s when I discovered life coaching.
I had always been fascinated by personal growth and self-help, so I started working with my own coach through The Life Coach School. The tools I learned changed my life in profound ways. I stopped focusing only on surviving and started reconnecting with myself again.
Four years ago, I became certified as a life coach because I wanted to help mothers like me, women raising children with disabilities who are carrying so much responsibility, pressure, worry, and love every single day.
I know how easy it is to lose yourself in caregiving. I also know how lonely this life can sometimes feel, especially when nobody around you fully understands it. Since Jack passed away, my passion for helping mothers of children with disabilities has only grown stronger.
My goal is to help women feel less overwhelmed, more grounded, and more connected to themselves again, not just as caregivers, but as people.
I look forward to working with you, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.
